The easier you make it for them to see if you fit the requirements of the role, the more likely you are to be called for an interview.·Include a letter in your application explaining why you are interested in the role. (Make sure you put the correct details in for the job, don't just use the same letter for 10 different jobs).·What would make Squiz think you can do the job? State your claim for the position briefly. Bullet points are fine as long as they make sense and are relevant to the role being advertised.·Target your letter and CV to each job you are applying for. We receive hundreds of applications and it is much easier for us to see who is a better fit for the role if your CV has key words in it which relate to the job.·If you have a career goal, this should match up to the position or organisation you are applying to work for. Don't write that you want a career as a Project Manager within government if you are applying for a role in an IT company.·Make sure your letter is to the point (not too long). Refer to your previous experience and past jobs so that this information also stands out in the CV when we read it.·In your CV, edit each section when you apply for a different role so that the important and relevant bits stand out. If the ad asks for experience with a certain software package, or liaising with clients, add this to those jobs where you had that experience.·If the ad states you need to do certain tasks or need certain experience make sure this is listed within your CV somewhere if you have experience in it.·Write down in your CV what you did at each job; list the main responsibilities and activities.·If you haven't had direct experience in something that's still okay sometimes, but make sure you demonstrate how your work history relates to the role you are applying for. For example if you apply for tender writer role but have no experience with tenders, have you worked in sales before? Have you done technical writing before? Why do you think this is relevant? How could your skills transfer to tender writing?·If you are an IT / Technical person, include a table or list of the software, applications, hardware etc that you have used before.OPEN SOURCE.
