Staging in a Difficult Market Looking for Green Shoots
We keep hearing that the economy is taking a turn for the better, and that we're on our way out of the recession. Still, it can be hard to feel positive when things seem to be moving so slowly. The real estate market is beginning to thaw, but with many people deciding to stay in their current homes rather than sell, where is the role for staging? Where are the green shoots? As we've said in earlier newsletters, patience is required in this market. But the great thing about challenge is that it makes you grow in ways you might otherwise have not considered. So why not rethink some of your services? With a little creativity, you can help people redesign their existing space. People are often disappointed that they are not able to sell...why not help them recapture some excitement about the space they have rather than the one they hoped to have? The same tools you use for staging with feng shui also work with redesign. You're going to be much less concerned with depersonalizing, and much more concerned with matching the personal preferences of the owners with the space. But almost every other tool will help you create a more comfortable environment. Whether you help reduce clutter, reorganize a space, or create a new purpose for the room, people face the same challenges as when trying to sell. They often can't see what would make the room more comfortable, they hesitate to chose a paint color, or just aren't sure where to start. And if they have simply postponed their decision to sell, they get a head start on the preparation needed for the future. When they are ready to stage for the move...it's you they are going to call. Finally, don't forget the power of intention! Take a moment to visualize success in your business every day.

Home Staging with Feng Shui Workshops

We're looking forward to our next Home Staging with Feng Shui. workshop in Raleigh, NC in September. We are seeing signs of improvement in the economy and expect a full class.
