General diagram
As you can see, the router allows two distinct subnets to communicate: - An "external" subnet whose subnet mask is "255.255.240.0". Let's say that this one symbolizes the whole Internet. - A « local » subnet: 4D WebSTAR and 4D Business Kit both belong to this one. The subnet mask associated is "255.255.255.0". As a gate for both subnets, the router owns two IP interfaces which are described in the following screenshot (this screenshot was taken with the Web interface of a BARRICADE SMC7004ABR router):
